Dear ACS Community,
This week at ACS, our end-of-year activities will be in full swing. This morning we just had a wonderful award ceremony honoring the achievements of our Elementary students. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will honor our student athletes. Then on Thursday, the student council will host the prom. Finally, the week will culminate with a farewell to our senior class.
I also have good news to share with you about next year. Our hiring for next year is finally complete. Next fall we will welcome a teaching couple who will be joining us after having taught in Taiwan for most of the last decade. He is an experienced AP English teacher and she will be teaching Chemistry. In addition, we will welcome an experienced Social Studies teacher from New York. Please watch your social media in the next two weeks for additional information about these new faculty members.
It is hard to believe that next Thursday the first of June will be our final day of school. Please remember that it will be a half day. Finally, our ACS students in the Operation Smile Club are organizing a 5k Color Run on Sunday, May 28 at 8:00 am. Tickets are on sale now (operationsmile@acslp.org).

Esta semana en ACS, nuestras actividades de fin de año estarán en pleno apogeo. Esta mañana tuvimos una maravillosa ceremonia de premiación en honor a los logros de nuestros estudiantes de Primaria. El martes y miércoles, honraremos a nuestros estudiantes atletas. Luego, el viernes, el consejo estudiantil será el anfitrión del baile de graduación. Finalmente, la semana culminará con una despedida a nuestra clase senior.
También tengo buenas noticias para compartir con ustedes sobre el próximo año. Nuestra contratación para el próximo año finalmente está completa. El próximo otoño daremos la bienvenida a una pareja de maestros que se unirá a nosotros después de haber enseñado en Taiwán durante la mayor parte de la última década. Él es un profesor de AP inglés con experiencia y ella enseñará química. Además, daremos la bienvenida a un experimentado profesor de Estudios Sociales de Nueva York. Estén atentos a sus redes sociales durante las próximas dos semanas para obtener información adicional sobre estos nuevos miembros del profesorado.
Es difícil creer que el próximo jueves primero de junio será nuestro último día de clases. Recuerden que será sólo medio día. Dear Parents,
I am looking forward to all of the wonderful end-of-year activities and ceremonies that we have planned for this week and next. One important thing to note for this coming Friday: We will be moving Lunch up in the schedule slightly to accommodate Senior Farewell. If you drop off your child's lunch at school, please note that Lunch will take place from 1:15 - 1:45 PM.
Please remind your child to begin returning any borrowed materials as soon as possible so that they are free of obligations. Usually, this entails the return of any Library books they may have taken out over the course of the year.
This is the week when final assignments are due, so please ensure that your children are coming to school well-rested and ready to wrap up the academic year in their courses.
